Garvey’s SuperValu in Listowel, Co Kerry has been named Best Large SuperValu Store for 2018. The retailer beat stiff competition from other finalists to receive the much-coveted accolade at the SuperValu National Conference, which was held in the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney. The team from the long-established Garvey Group were presented with the award for the SuperValu Listowel store by Martin Kelleher, SuperValu Managing Director, Michael Morgan, SuperValu Sales Director and JF Michel, Account Director of Three Business, the competition’s sponsors. Winning the large store title is recognition of the exceptional standards that Garvey’s SuperValu store in Listowel has attained. The Kerry store beat competing outlets throughout the Republic, which were all assessed by an independent adjudicator.

The store audits focused on a range of areas, including product range and innovation; store presentation; fresh food offering, customer care and store quality and hygiene standards. Although finalists in this category all reached very high standards, Garvey’s SuperValu in Listowel, which has a fully scratch bakery, large Deli counter with hot carvery meal option and meat counter specialising in added value meals as well as an array of fresh fish, and offer an extensive range of gluten-free products and health foods, scored higher than all other stores nationwide in the large store category.

Receiving the award, Kevin McCarthy from the Garveys paid tribute to the team at Listowel and acknowledged that their enthusiasm and dedication was instrumental in the store scooping the award. “I’d like to thank all of the hard-working, dedicated staff in Listowel for this great victory.
