Garvey's Supervalu & Randles Bros Sponsor Vehicle for Tralee Tidy Towns

Chairperson of Tidy Towns Tralee, Sam Locke, accepted a van on behalf of Tidy Towns Tralee, courtesy of Garvey's Supervalu and Randles Bros, this morning. Sam Locke said the gesture is greatly appreciated by Tralee Tidy Towns, and will be used to maintain their Gold Medal status. The previous van, which was sponsored by Garveys and Kellihers 17 years ago, unfortunately broke down a number of weeks ago. Seeing the good work that Tidy Towns Tralee does, Jim Garvey of Garvey's and Dave Randles had no problem coming forward to jointly sponsor the van. Sam Locke commented; “The donation is sure to benefit the whole town in retaining its gold medal, by allowing the Community Employment workers to carry out their duties for the community, bringing plants and shrubs into areas that need to be enhanced on an ongoing basis. So on that note, I have to thank Randles Bros and Garvey's Supervalu, specifically Dave and Jim, for their generous sponsorship.” The various groups in Tralee that will benefit from having this mode of transport are Tralee Tidy Together, Tralee Chamber Alliance, the Tralee Tidy Towns Group, and the Community Employment workers that the department of Social Protection provide to carry out this work. Dave Randles said; “This was important for us, from the point of offering support for something so good for Tralee Town, like Tidy Towns. They do a lot of great work for Tralee to keep the town clean, and we're very happy to support them.” Kerry County Council will maintain and insure the vehicle in another very generous gesture, appreciated by all in Tidy Towns Tralee.
